Unfortunately, the Justice may be half right. I've worked with divorced and single fathers for 20 years, and I can say the a marriage between an African/American male and a Caucasian female have a high rate of failure, resulting in the mothers trying to alienate the children from the father. There's a much lower rate with them marrying a Asian woman. For Caucasian males marry an African/American woman, the failure rate of the marriage is much lower than marrying a Caucasian woman. I hate using the term race as we are all a part of the human race.
Now for this couple, if they were both virgins, their chances of a long marriage would be much greater due to their ages. Both were fully mature. Over 85% of divorces involve couples who cohabit or marry prior to age 24. The best age for a male to first develop a relationship, and get married, is when he passes age 30.

I thought I'd hit a time warp, was back before the 1960's. I don't even know if licenses can be denied for other reasons, too, other than somebody being underage and in most states, same sex marriage.
To somebody who asked, I think it was in Louisiana.
My question is, do two whites, blacks, or anybody come in, and the authorities say ';You look like you'll abuse your kids, I can't give you a license.'; Or ';You are both scientists. Your kids will be Nerds. We can't do that to the kids.';
I mean where does this stop.
1) His actions are illegal since as a JOP he is an officer of the government as his actions invade privacy and are discriminitory
2) His actions are immoral and as such he should be stoned until he is unconscious then when he wakes up punched in the face
3) He himself is a complete idiot who should be fired since no marriage law on eligibility or oath mentions children so he abused the power of his office in an area he has no legal authority on...by that I mean his office has nothing to do with children and/or reproduction and so he needs to just be quiet on that issue in his official capacity
Stupid crap like this all comes from our opening the bottle on rights by the anti-gay marriage crowd.
They have made a wedge issue creating a legal grey area where some people think it is ok for their own personal codes of ethics to trump law, decency and adults' rights to choose for themselves.
C Y %26gt; if he was a priest or clergy member whose church refused that woudl be fine......but since you are not aware in this modern era we have anti-discrimination laws, equality laws, and SCOTUS determined decades ago a BASIC CIVIL RIGHT TO MARRIAGE and so a govt official does NOT in any way imaginable have the right and/or authority to exercise their own personal will in who can obtain basic civil rights and who cannot.

By basic American law if you are a governmental official then your must abide by governmental rules+codes of conduct and you rpersonal opinions *must* remain seperate...it is the very same thing that allows a govt official to be say a devote muslim...they can have their freedom of religion but by law it must remain seperate and outside of any situation that involves their activities **as a representative of the US govt**
The silver lining to this cloud is that we still live in a country where we can stand up for our beliefs, and not be forced to write a marriage certificate against our will in the name of political correctness. Was it wrong-yeah it was. So what. Get over it, and find someone whose not a dinosaur to marry you so you can live happily ever after. Furthermore, why would you even want a guy who doesn't agree with your beliefs to marry you in the first place.
I wonder if if would have made a difference to him if the man was white and the woman was black. Or if it were a Asian and Hispanic couple.
It's been a long time since we have heard this variation of ';Separate but equal'; argument. He needs to check his US Supreme Court precedent.
Then again, being the devil's advocate, his point was that he (personally) is just not signing the license. He did not say that the couple can't get signature from somebody else.

I would ask the judge, whom I believe is disingenuous about his reasons, how racial progress can be made with this type of policy.
Its the 21st century and his views are still stuck in the 60s. All racists justify thier racist thinking with the line I have plenty of black friends.

I happen to agree with the judge pertaining to this matter. There's absolutely nothing wrong with socializing with another race(in fact, none at all) however natural balances are being interfered with through copulation between two people of separate races. Also makes those that preach natural law over rule of law hypocrites through their own actions.
