Legally the cost is over 1000 if you are filing papers to marry an alien fiance with a visa. If you are talking about martrriage of convience it happens, but the penalties are severe if they catch you.How much is an average marriage agreement supposed to cost?

If you're talking about how much an alien pays a citizen to marry them for a green card, I've heard anywhere from $3000-$10000. That's not a lot of money when you consider that the whole process can take 2 and a half to 3 years or longer to get the unconditional permanent residency. Also the citizen sponsoring the alien is liable for any public money paid to the alien (eg welfare) for a period of 10 years.
